Comprehensive Plan

The Village has started working on a Comprehensive Plan, as of June 2013, with plans to complete this project by April 2014. The comprehensive planning process will help to determine the long-term goals and aspirations pertaining to development within the community (generally a 20-year outlook). The outcome will be a plan that will guide Village officials when making decisions in regards to transportation, utilities, land use, recreation, housing, and Village services/facilities. Look for a public informational meeting in March 2014.

Rapids City Village President Harold Mire, Jr. has declared a snow emergency from noon today, Tuesday, December 29th, 2020, through 3:00pm Wednesday, December 30th, 2020.

Street Parking Ordinance Reminder - If there is 2” of snow predicted to fall you will need to find an alternative to street parking. By not parking on Village streets you help our Public Works Department clear streets in a more timely fashion.


Village Board Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month. At this time the meetings are being held upstairs at Village Hall located at 1204 4th Avenue. All meeting attendees are required to wear a mask when medically tolerable to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
